There is no growth to report. After its best December, the brand sold 45% less on Amazon in January to August 2026 than a year earlier, and this read cannot say why.
The twelve months to August 2026 came to $5.95M, down 30.5% on the twelve before. January to August 2026 came to $1.89M, against $3.45M in 2025. August alone was down 55% on August 2025, and May 2026 was the lowest month in the series. The drop came straight after December 2025, the best month in three years of data.
It is spread across the line, not one product failing. From January to August, Gracula sold 59% less than a year earlier, Elizabat 57% less and the original Nessie ladle 63% less. The catalogue did not shrink: 69 to 95 listings carried a badge in each month of 2026, against 68 to 107 in 2025. New shapes keep arriving, such as a gnome whisk, chip clips and a skull oil cruet, but none has filled the gap.
Several explanations fit, and none is measured. Target has stocked the range since December 2024. Advertising may have been cut. Stock may have run short. China tariffs changed repeatedly through 2025 and 2026. Demand may simply have fallen. Part of July and August is price, since the biggest listings ended both months on sale.
The same seller account holds the listings from the first month of the series to the last, and nothing read dates OTOTO’s move into Essor’s portfolio. The decline cannot be set against the ownership, and this page does not.
