Advertising

Read Sep 2026. Figures here are a reading taken then, not a live feed.

They are not buying much. The ads that could be seen sit on their own name and one niche phrase, and the search read found them on neither.

🚨 Nobody can measure a competitor’s ad spend from outside the account, and the figure below is modelled rather than counted. The two sit side by side here on purpose. The COUNTED side is a live search read: amazon.com in headless Chrome, logged out, on 7 October 2026, with nineteen queries and every sponsored card classified. Amazon showed “deliver to Israel” on every read, because a US delivery address was accepted but did not hold for a guest session, and it drew ads on only five of the nineteen pages, so a page with no sponsored cards says nothing about advertisers. The MODELLED side takes Jungle Scout’s share of sponsored impressions on ten keywords and prices the clicks at Amazon’s own suggested bids.

The two sources disagree and both are reported. Jungle Scout’s panel saw them sponsored on their own name, “mount cleverest”, with three products and 11% of the sponsored slots, and on “true or false game”, with three products and 15%. The search read found no sponsored Mount Cleverest card on any page that drew ads, the brand term included, where the four sponsored slots above their organic results were TV wall mounts bidding on the word “mount”. The gap between a panel averaged over a window and a single instant is the error bar on this section.

Everything the method cannot see points the other way, and none of it was counted: auto campaigns, product targeting, Sponsored Brands and video, and the October to December peak, which is when a seasonal deck is most likely to advertise. What can be said is narrower. On the visible keywords the whole bill models at $7 to $29 a month, around $15 at the middle, and at Amazon’s own suggested bids a click on a broad term such as “family game” costs $1.73 against a $16.99 deck, about $7 to $9 of ads for each sale at the 14% conversion the brand term shows. That arithmetic is consistent with them not buying those terms.

Amazon’s bids are from its own Ads API on the Original’s ASIN, read 7 October 2026, from a US seller profile that is not theirs; they are what it would suggest, not what anyone paid. The API returns cents and the conversion was cross-checked against Jungle Scout on one shared term ($1.67 against $1.42 for the family card game phrases).
